A style icon, the 649 is unique because it features Victorflex with other classic Persol design qualities. Victorflex is a system that gives the bridge maximum flexibility while standing out as an original and iconic design.
Victorflex
Created in the’30s as a derivative of Meflecto, Victorflex is a unique flexible bridge, made by inserting two steel strips into the acetate and cutting three vertical slits on the bridge. Five intricate manual steps are needed for this process. Interestingly, Victorflex is shown to it’s full potential, giving a glimpse of the steel through the acetate, on the patented dappled color Persol frames.

Up to ten additional phases are needed to produce the folding models.Each example is made in its entirety and then carefully broken at three points, on both sides and the bridge.
The bridge
Housings are created in the upper and lower parts to accommodate the hinges. The folding areas are then filed smooth for maximum comfort.
The Sides
After fitting a core, the hinge is applied and the sides then go through the finishing process.
Millimetre precision
In order to ensure a perfect fold, the nosepieces are slightly different to those of other Persol models.
The 714 is one of the cornerstones of the Persol collection.
